Peggy Cotter Travel Award Program for Early Career Branch Members

We are pleased to announce the availability of the 2024 Peggy Cotter Travel Award Program for Early Career Branch Members. This program provides funds to attend ASM Microbe 2024, to be held June 13-17, 2023, in Atlanta, GA (ASM Microbe | Overview | ASM.org [asm.org]).

The purpose of the award is to allow more individuals in the local Branches to attend ASM Microbe and experience the first-class sessions in specialty science areas, cutting-edge research, career development activities and networking/collaboration opportunities at the meeting. It is expected that the awardees will, in turn, share their ASM Microbe experiences with their colleagues, students, mentees, and fellow Branch members, thereby enthusing others to join ASM and attend ASM Microbe in future years. Please note that abstract submission to ASM Microbe closes on January 23, 2024.

We encourage you or your eligible colleagues to apply. The guidelines for the award can be found at Peggy Cotter Travel Award | ASM.org [asm.org]. This funding is targeted to postdoctoral researchers, clinical scientists, and early career faculty (overall, defined as within 15 years of their terminal degree).

To apply, please email cbourne@ou.edu by Feb. 1, 2024, your CV and a short description of how attendance at the ASM Microbe meeting will enhance your career trajectory. We anticipate three awards for 2024.

Not a branch member? No problem! We welcome your involvement, and should you choose to join the cost of Branch membership is only $20.
